How the catalog is handled

Sources and refreshes

AniList is the primary source for titles, synopses, images, genres, status, episode data, characters, trailers, external provider links, and AiringSchedule events. Jikan can supply limited fallback metadata. The small displayed-data cache refreshes after 24 hours and does not bulk-copy either service’s database.

Automated versus original content

Catalog facts, descriptions, and images are source-supplied rather than independently written by YumeWatch. Interface labels, explanatory notes, and policy pages are YumeWatch’s editorial material. YumeWatch does not present source-supplied synopses as original reviews.

Broadcast and streaming labels

“Scheduled” and “aired” refer to source-reported broadcast timing. They do not mean that a stream has been uploaded or licensed in every region. Provider links are shown only when supplied by the metadata source, and visitors must confirm the specific title or episode on the provider’s website.

Official YouTube episode matching

YumeWatch scans only configured, verified distributor channel upload playlists. A confirmed match requires an explicit episode number, a strong English, Japanese, Romaji, Chinese, or verified alternate-title match, a plausible runtime, public visibility, embedding permission, and baseline regional availability. Titles containing trailer, preview, clip, recap, promotional, opening, or ending indicators are rejected. Ambiguous matches are withheld in a private review queue until an operator approves or rejects them.

The Philippines is the current automated availability baseline. A visitor may select another country on an episode page to evaluate YouTube’s explicit allowed or blocked region lists. A missing explicit block is not a worldwide-playback guarantee; YouTube performs the final playback and rights checks.

YouTube availability metadata is rechecked daily when a key is configured and never retained without refresh for more than 30 days. “Official upload” identifies the source channel; it is not a statement that YumeWatch owns or independently licenses the episode.

Safety and corrections

Adult titles are excluded at query and cache-normalization time. Duplicate records are removed by stable identifiers. Missing images use a local fallback. To request a correction, email [email protected] with the affected URL and supporting source.

Rights concerns

YumeWatch does not claim ownership or independent licensing of source-supplied descriptions, artwork, character images, trademarks, or promotional media. Rights holders can contact [email protected] or use the process on the Contact page.
